To Rudolph and Leonell

Water hits the floor
And it still cannot scream
You’ve hit too many rocks
And you cannot quit
Some hearts are ice warm.
Boiling cold, then there’s yours
That sits in the middle of a storm
And blinks slowly
On days when learning to trust God is hard
I’ll find you.

I’ve had two fathers, one dad.
One is mad, the other on fleek
Another teaches indifference,
Wit, sarcasm and care.
Disappears but watches from afar
Tells words he is master and servant
I could be grateful for silence or care
Or grit and what you will become
But there’s one that’s greater
ART.
