To Rudolph and Leonell

rain falls on days the ground divides
you prostrate into little shells
for days my hands sink in deep
into the waters.
I am grateful you’re great
thankful you’re light
singing you’re god
don’t stop teaching
cause you hurt evil
while you live.

you’re not there but—
you found a’road
you’re not close to the patient
means you’re not there yet.
I’m glad you’re locked
in clouds and in waters.
sing songs, don’t stop
wear crowns, don’t fear.
while you find joy and seek peace
never hold your laughter.
