Something to say

To say something so wild
So inimical, my chest breaks as it beats
This is not a rare case of a surprise
It is death. To wish by an action
that I roll over this soil, into an arm
that would break me faster than bad news
We swing our lips from ear to ear
Call it a smile, or pain too deep our faces wail
Either way, I’m tossed all over the place
From joy to defeat, from lessons to ecstasy
To say something so wild
So obviously dangerous
Like “trust me with your heart,
I’ll be mild”.
