dumpty dumped right through
pity for humpty after the fall
the city for dumpty gathered all.

but many never knew
who he was or what he’d need
why he did what he did
not the emotions of the wall

not a single clue.
they gathered big and small
with care, disregard and speed.
humpty fell but to only a few
