the rumors are that
‘the old days are the good ones’
but these days, they say otherwise
or i choose to think them so
for good merely becomes relic;
abandoned buildings; unpaid workers;
ghana must go; missing funds;
uncivil service; military action against the innocent;
war against indiscipline.
it is the hurt after unfortunate events
that breeds religious differences, boko haram,
herdsmen, militants, aggrieved minorities
the good old days didn’t do enough
but left bitter for us instead of better.
