Picture Five

We asked for bread
They gave us stones
We didn’t know how to eat them
So we mechanised them
Threw them into the sky
In rage and with might
Aeons later, these stones
Have come bearing down
To crush us all
Begrudged, not asking us why
It keeps taking us under its weight
Taking our blood, breath, and life.
