Should we tell them?

the smoke signals are on,
the alarms are blaring
the compass is vibrating towards
a certain direction of the wind
it is now or never
to save the fate of this ship
the captain’s crew must stand
there’s no time for ease,
only attention would save everyone on board.

they would sell you hope,
they’ll teach you faith
but I must do the otherwise
I must tell you that hope
is a vehicle with no wheels
you must stand at attention, put the work in.
