Both ends of a stick

if you beat the drums of war hard
something about you moves
the motion moves your body to sweat,
and your palm begins to blister.
it is you enjoying the rhythm
that others are dancing to.
tell the others who so seek the sweet in honey
that there’s sting in the bee
it’s the pain for the pleasure
not other way round it.
