Bigotry walks in

the fire which should enlighten
has lulled us slowly to sleep
the fire which should consume
our hate has turned to eat us
stones and glasses
should not make a home
they should never become friends
the truth is that there’s no truth
every man should pursue life
food, love, women, alcohol,
rather than throats, heads, tears
my body is a Christian
my spirit is a Muslim
my soul is a traditionalist
we all are actually nobodies.
