Anything within a parentheses
Could pass as my synonym
(I find it dangerous to stand alone)
Yet, I stand alone
I place my body in between things
In between people
Just maybe I will be overlooked
So in (silence) I travel
Without a clue where my next abode lies
I uncurl my lifelines as I walk
Until my hands learn to bracket me in
It is not (fear) or (insecurity)
It is that (trust) died alongside my childhood
Alongside time lost to the wind
