On belief

I take a pill the morning after too much
forbidden thoughts. The day after, I sing songs
as I walk in circles with a humming touch

Here, sounds are prayers and we vibe to loud gongs
touching the nerves of the gods, the gods are dead
but they are alive to realise our wrongs

We are conscious, aware of the signs ahead
when the clouds are black then, twice, we have been warned
and only when we shed blood will the rains be red

Indeed, our tongues bled more whenever we mourned
and angels worshipped us when we gave them beef
with roses and mist and glow, we were adorned

A person silent in prayers is a thief
I do wonder where I got my belief
