I put a price tag on all of my friends
Some are cheaper than others, some are free
I hawk them all around on some weekends
I hang some of them on a mango tree

I sold the first for a scent, cool fragrance
So I sniff myself and then remember
The other, sold for a gene, insurance
I know not if I am of my father

My tray is empty, I am down to two
I am not rich or wealthy from my sale
One’s in my head, the other in my shoe
And now I am conversing with a whale
