Tonight, I write again

Tonight, I Write

Do you remember sitting out by the river bank
And us, without a bank account
And the fishes swimming by without a wave .
At the club, we got in gate crashing
And watched the poverty drenched drunk
Picking on our nerves, while picking half cigarette stubs
Lighting it with the fire in our eyes.
I have loved you since ,silently in my heart
I have sang your name in my inner voice
Often I cook for you with groceries
That grow only in my head
I’ve longed to do something for us
A thing so real ,we can touch with our fingers
So darling, tonight ,I write .
