What i fear

in truth
i fear naught.
in the midst of angst,
the acceptance of loss
and the danger of daring
i have been taught
we own naught
not a throne
to which we are heirs
not the air we allow
to be conditionally blown
we are alone
we will have
we will lose
we’d cheat on a spouse,
betray a friend
remain selfish
know how people become people
in the midst of the myth
the legend fact faces
i fear naught.
only, one day
i might awake
to be
voiceless:
no tongue
no teeth
no mouth
nothing
