Let me show you what i mean

The lights broke too
I sat in the dark, true
I fondled with worms and sweat
Not knowing which crept
across my back
In the dark, there are little lights
like the last time the sun cracked skins
Tried to see how living bones melt
How veins twinkle like stars in beats
And in the flow, we miss it
When yesterday bore an old face
We missed it by familiarity
Time ticked backwards
We rocked it, waiting
Today is broken because we ran too fast
Hugged the wrong zones
Were born into the wrong countries
the right families
Drank motherland waters
Traced the scent of placentas
Buried, eaten by our own skin
Our own soil, the things that make us
Still the things that quench us
I mean…
