Take sorrow’s hand

Sorrow may be what you birth.
Sorrow may be a boy.
Take sorrow’s hand and shake it.
Not in a goodbye bye but in a warm embrace.
The sting of sorrow is temporary
and temporary ends for permanence after.
In the end, shed skin.
Allow the water rise above your neck, bow to the cleansing.
Undress your thoughts, let your mind be blown.
Do the work and change clothing. Sorrow may come from joy.
Be beside yourself,
be ready for dirt that comes with growth,
thorns that prick in the harvest, puddle that comes with rain
and the cut that welcomes light.
