If it were my last

Death would envelop my essence
Rid me of today’s dilemma
Leave my fears frozen
While I choose heaven or hell

None knows the will of Allah
Or the reason for his absence
I choose only to offer smiles
And take delight in being a rebel

My birth won an ambulance
This disruptive agenda
Would prove itself once
When I die and bid earth farewell

My birth and death would have been twin
An uncanny coincidence

Victor Oyedele
