If it were my last

I pray to have walked down this path
as a husband, father and a happy man
I must have imparted countless knowledge
I would love to die when the time is right

I would have poured my heart in cups
for people to drink and take a bath
I’d have chosen and built my own clan
with knights who are ready to put up a fight

I’d have helped my wards on their journey
to live freely to avoid unjust wrath
I’d be an example of how to be greater than
I’d have taught them how to read and write

I’d love to live for as long as the stars shine
But it’s only a fool who doesn’t add death to the plan
