I speak enough of gratitude

If it is a widow’s mite,
then it is enough,
except the receiver is
greedy and unkind.

as we often don’t bite
surfaces we find rough
we can as well not offer
one to the blind.

when you see a crawling kite
don’t act all tough
but crawl with it in the dust;
to understand the stories that bind

all of us to ourselves like light
or love or empathy.
