Response to Wislawa Szymborska’s “Receiver”

Dreamers

To you,
Dreamer.
I know you know how to dream
Know how to scream
You know how to flow and freeze.
I know you are scared of the night
You fear that time
For your eyes cannot stop to watch
You wish, that darkness will disappear
And the burden of your soul be lifted
You desire to deeply sigh.
But honey,
You’re not to fear
For life itself is a dream;
The reality comes after death .
So if someone dead’s calling
Don’t hang up
Pick up and tell them you’d join them
But not soon
Only after you’ve lived your dream.
Lived it to the full
