Along River Tiber

The story of a child king
was written along the Tiber river,
a child king
forced into a fight
against a miserable sling
attached to a string,
forced into flight
for a ring told of blessings
embraced in the arms of the king
tied to the daughter.
A sword was bestowed
he must fight to be free
the Knight had given his word
he’d give the winner a token
to choose a wife in that kingdom.
he might be denied if
betrothed to the broken niece of the king
He gets the kingdom, his rite
the victory of battle
If he brings the sword
and the ring.
