the story of a child king
denied his rite
forced into flight
in to fight
saved by a knight
and bestowed a ring.

embraced in the arms of a kingdom
told of blessings he might bring
if betrothed to the niece of the king
attached he gets to a string
tied to the daughter of the king
the niece is broken
to be free, he must fight
for a ring, a token
he’d been given by the knight
the winner had his word
to choose as wife if he victory brings
and in that battle was a sword
against a miserable sling.
