If i were to read about myself

I’ll keep an open mind.
Like the opening line of a rejection letter
I’ll be subtle
letting each word sink
like urine in a desert
then I’ll be dry
forget every knowledge of myself
hoping the article teaches me who I am
what I have done
I’ll be alert
looking out for the next untrue paragraph
the next exaggerated one
then I’ll be moist
knowledge of self poured on me like that
can make a girl sweat.
