Focus: This Picture (IV)

The eyes are a lifeless mirror
Through which others see,
Manipulators and lovers,
Instincts and perception,
What we see is what is shown,
What we assume is what is known,
A patient eye will see the head’s nose,
A wandering eye will find what it seeks,
For every wrong a man does
I wonder, what if he was blind?
What you do not see, you don’t mind,
From the days of the apple in Eden
Until the day of a trumpet in heaven
The eyes have/will always be the trigger
For a man to see the scene, commit a sin,
For a man to make choices death will remember,
And there is a lot that the eyes won’t see
Until it forever closes and the body dies
What more can a man not want to be?
What more should the eyes not want to see?
