I wonder why apples are not yellow
and are ripe as green and red
when unripe is as green as red
and rot looks better with colour

the things that bite are dental
if it aches, it’s mental
the dents are dents and are accidental
with the cause and cure at the center

in the morning we fed
at noon we bled
at night we are misled
ghosts. humans. spirits. slaves
none that we are.
some we have been.

on the right is broken belief
the left is what we do not know
in the middle is the apple as green as red
one is food, one is poison
the gollum of life and death
