Vintage Feelings

if i could, i would
teleport into recent past
untainted as i should
a fine topiary and contrast
when beauty was understood
and questions were clearly asked
when books were gotten from wood
and wisdom, not wealth, was amassed
if i could, i would
recall all that have passed
teach the dangers of falsehood
live a life that is steadfast
allow my tongue to make its choice of wine
bow to the whim of adventure
embrace cancers that are benign
and be less scared of heat in temperature
