Men Locked Down

Things you can tie are way beyond this,
beyond a man hiding in drapes
beyond the faces that see through thick walls.
If a man is locked in the vessel he made
then he will tear down what he built
tongues he laced
hearts he quenched
and stories he drowned.
Freedom is not freely born
being born doesn’t mean freedom.
If in this tentacles are moist hurt
then he will turn against his maker
build fortresses of hell
and bridges into the afterlife
be it through pieces of silver or consciousness of the mind,
something has to move
like the sun does daily
Like the stars that think to shine.
