The Burning Water

I listened to the ocean’s wave
I drank the depths of her belly
And found not the spice of Delhi
Nor did it lead to Pharoah’s grave

I ran with both arms and legs
Something must kill
The fire waking on my inside
So I went to see the ikogosi
It bares amazement
For the mind to ponder upon.

I’m in awe the lake isn’t smelly
I went to see the ngwo cave
To the river’s peace, be the slave
Be like water oh dear Kelly.

My tears are frozen
From having lost too much
Till they come running,
Running down the cheeks
Relieve, release
Themselves from the death inside.

Duro ibi ti opopona ko ni opin
Bawo ni a ṣe mọ pe a ko rii ile?
