love is both mental torture and madness
whose giver may be guilty of receipt.
this illness that often ends in sadness
gladdens even when the ailment repeats
It starts with fevers, shivers that may heat
eyes river until hearts survive again
but the roller-coaster makes the trip sweet
when we return we recall naught of pain
except for those ones who journey in vain
