In Experience

I was the unexpected champion for boys in my ss1
I’ve held a girl’s buttocks in public
I lost the physical ability to express fear
I tell you sincerely, I can’t tell where the guts came from
Once I stole from a neighbor’s house
Twice I sniffed pepper
I bought myself more trouble than I could handle
I love the attention that comes from it
I‘ve been scared to death that I’ll die
I’ve seen tears drop from the hardest place I know
I’m always in awe of how the world works
I learned that living shouldn’t be a struggle
I’ve heard that all men will die
I’ve had some dreams about the end too
I once had a thing for flaunting orders
And only one reason; ego
I have an unusual bond with fireworks
I witnessed Nigeria’s democratic leaders
I will testify of days I had to survive by a thread
I have stories that would make any heart bleed
I found out I had the power of choice.
