Just because I am a Nigerian,
Doesn’t mean I am violent,
Doesn’t mean I am into fraud,
Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be trusted.
Just because I easily ignore,
Doesn’t mean I am stupid,
Doesn’t mean I don’t have what to say,
Doesn’t mean I have forgiven.
Just because I don’t go out,
Doesn’t mean I am depressed,
Doesn’t mean I am anti-social,
Doesn’t mean I am underprivileged.
Just because I love to read and write
Must I have a favourite author/poet?
Isn’t to enlighten the main purpose it was written?
What does it matter that I love politics?
I am human, first.
