I pray Thee

Everything that I have ever known here
Only grows from bad to worst
As the sun rises and sets.
There has never been a better day,
Only a less worst day.
Should I ever stop praying then?
Since the supposed listener
Has planted his ears far from here.
I have pledged
to be a better Human,
Patriotic, loving, kind,good,
Everything that I have expected God to be.
