A Lover’s Dream
Half way through the burn
It occurred to me;
my lover was the fire.
Now i know how love consumes.
From this dream, I wish never to wake,
Your sweetness I pray to always intoxicate
Your voice in my head will stay musical
Your laughter and mirth, forever whimsical
This lover’s dream I seek, to last forever
As i lay my head tonight
I hope to see her in another realm
Holding hands delicately yet so tight
Startled back to life far from my dream’s helm
She never appeared to settle my fright.
She was dreaming with her eyes open
Viciously in love with a gypsy man
His touch was sleek like the calibration of an iPhone
She fell for a lie dressed in a truth regalia
Somebody should tell her sleeping with a man doesn’t make you the woman of his dreams
