It’s In A Name

Woe not to him who gave me name!
He chose one that is such so rare.
Yes! thin amidst the whole girls’ frame.
It’s beautiful to proudly bear.
Lo! It has given me this fame,
Over the hills and the streets near.
Void not of a meaning, not lame.
Enough prayer to be called fair
Magnify God, as they’d proclaim.
Yet, as far from the east, somewhere,
Never will I feel a bit shame,
Any time, to tell a white heir,
“My name’s Tochukwu” no rename.
Even in heaven, this, I’d wear.

Tochi
