For it is in their nature to cheat”
“ do you think we all have it easy ,
Do you know I have left him to God?”
I have watched women trodden upon,
Daughters questioned from below,
Daughter-in-laws dragged to hell
And sisters squeezed into sardine cans
Because a man said this or did that.
The shackles of death handed over,
From husband to wife
And she because she cares too much
Not about her kids
But the nocturnal hypocritical eyes
That may cry a tear
But mostly spread the lie that she was stubborn
Or she ran her mouth like a tap
Or she was a drama queen with the guts
Not listening to her eyes that tells the story of violence
Of how he beats her with his might
Or how he rapes her at night
Because our society would not understand,
Forgetting that “For better or worse” is not by force.
