Once Upon A Novice

She asked “what do you want?”
How dumb founded I was!
Beauty had a face to sit on,
Every hood uncle called her “my wife”
Long hair had a head to rest on,
Every cloth had a boy to fit,
Knowledge had a brain to dwell in.
I was in Jss2 and she was in Jss3,
Past questions that I never read
Gave me a reason to visit her daily.
Her thoughts was a song that
My lips found no lyrics to sing,
Inferiority had my mind to feed on
Being dark felt like a disadvantage,
Height will do more harm than good.
It’s either yes or no! Not Crucifixion,
I could read she was in love, from her eyes,
Tender feelings on mama’s “fornication is a sin”
Don’t bother if I later told how I felt,
“Mummy and daddy” is one to never forget.
