Ladders in the Sky

It’s untrue, there is no heaven in the sky
If it’s true we should be up there in the sky

What we wait for down here can always wait
What we look up to is a promise in the sky

After we die- something that we must embrace
How high would we have climbed up in the sky?

Ladders are never of heights ever afraid
But what use would be a ladder in the sky?

Whether we die while we lose battles
Vanquished leave their gaze in the sky.

Downpour, water that flows, torrential rain
I’ll be damned if there isn’t a dam in the sky

Metaphors are metaphors for cowards and wards
who refuse to see what’s written in the sky

Monuments like obelisks remind us of something
And those colours cannot be found in the sky

There are many ways to forgive one for a crime
And all of them are not scattered in the sky

I believe in a climb that many fall from
I believe in more than just some eyes in the sky
