What Do You Fear?

So ,what is it that you fear?
Is it that foretold voice that you hear
When somebody and nobody is looking at them?
I have watched the world shrink our smiles
And stretched a mile to miles
But I can not say , I dare not utter a word
In submission or in defense
For there are things that are bigger than me.

So ,what is it that you fear?
Does it pierce deeper than a spear
Or is it that man that lives upstairs?
I know the way they touch little girls
And tear on their nipples as if they are pearls,
Then look into our eyes to tell us it’s fine,
Even though those claws we will always feel on our spine.

So, tell me, what is it that you fear?
Does it tend to change its gear?
I too know of monsters for I am one of them,
And I too have been the reason why he shed a tear.
I know and at the same time I don’t.
