A Subtle Rhyme

You’ll read this poem word for word, line by line,
Until you feel
that your hearts heal
and you are fine
and cool and calm.
The rhymes will flood
your veins like blood
and soothe like balm.
Ink becomes wine
as you find rest in words like pigs in mud.

These subtle rhymes will make you bath in mud
And like old wine,
soothe you like balm.
Ink becomes blood.
When these words flood,
you’ll lose your calm
but still be fine.
You’ll write to heal;
and all you feel,
I’ll feel as I read your poem; line by line.
