I invited my fears to lunch,
Fed her courage; meal she detests,
Our dessert was a parting word
Telling her meal served was poisoned,
And that’s last time we’ll ever meet.
Learnt to live a happy widow,
Fears were dead and courage was born,
Erstwhile, I let my peace to rust,
A free man from shackles of life,
Set to explore time before gone.
Spread all I can, solve mysteries,
Eat all words I speak, taste them first,
Never stop to learn; strive to earn,
Growing old is a choice to make,
I choose to be young and daring.
