Count Your Blessings

Dear God, for things I had, have and want to have. For my ‘Abiku’ faith sometimes, fear of unknown, death that will one day be a gift, freedom to live and forgiveness of sins, ability to teach, write, learn and speak, friends that came and those that left, and family. For the ‘kun fayakun(s)’ you said, I’m nobody to count, I’m only being grateful.

For every night that turned to dawn, breath that remain to be breathed, words that failed to speak and words that slipped without caution, sun and moon that rose and shone, sleeps with dreams and those without, eyes that see, ears and nose that hear and smell, heart to love and lust, fear to live and leave, tears of joy and hurt. For everything mentioned, and forgotten- Thank you for being the cause.
