Hieroglyphic Silence

Tell Oduduwa his house is in mess,
Only cracked walls of language remain,
Sango, Osun, Ogun and others also Amaka(ed),
We are inert in sanctum smoke of mockery.

Bayajida should hide his shame beneath guilt.
For every blind eye he turned on us,
Nothing beautiful ever came to stay.
Libations dry of sun heat, not the gods sip

Incase you know another about to die,
Attach notes of negligence to Amadioah,
On how his idols have been eaten by termites.
Every thunder he refused to strike tore us apart.

We asked they rest and watch, they rather rest in peace,
Mutilated dreams, put somnolence in our hearts.
Tell them we’ve learnt to get healed by mother nature,
And we’ll have this conversation again when we meet.
