Shawl of Time
At sunset and sunrise, ring the bell,
To awaken dreams and slumber alive minds.
When the sun alarms all of the sky,
Be found only where your dreams are high.
The consistency in sleeping and waking,
How dedicated we are to the cause
Until it becomes an ordinary routine
And dawn turns to mundane 6AM’s.
Time tells man from apes and apes from rats,
Time tells old blues from hip hop and trap
Time tells cars from cracked heels and dead sandals
Time tells babies from adults and boys from men.
The shawls of time are vanishing blankets
That hinders no cold breeze blowing from the night,
The shawls of time are no comforting arms,
That stop to apologise for damages done.
