Street Signs

Zebras are beautiful when they cross roads.
But in an urban jungle U-turn a lot,
Especially when you face stop signs.
Sometimes its just lights that set rules.
Other times you’re prescribed places to park.
Some other times you don’t drive above 50.
Hills and bridges are seldom seen,
But Surely when you’re close to a hospital you would know.
In this urban jungle children like zebras cross too.
And Often life tells you there’s quite a bend ahead,
If there are no bends then surely bumps ahead.
Everyday our street speaks in unheard ways,
For most of these humans hear with their eyes,
And chose to see only the things that they want to see.
Like dumping refuse when our street says do not,
And refusing to urinate when our street says they should.
