Street Signs

Red, yellow and green are no amusement colors,
As much as Amber keeps you hypnotized, stay ready,
Green may remind you of watermelons but go steady,
Red, for all things Santa, fire and blood,
So to avoid the damage, hit your brakes.

On school children’s crossing, think of a play field,
Where running around has no rules or restrictions,
Think of blind babies on tarred streets,
With no visual intelligence to tell apart toys from actuality,
So to avoid damage, hit your brakes.

On a 10 AM drive to a 9 AM meeting,
With a truck, heavily fuming, driving at a koala pace,
And heavily inscribed “do not overtake” on its butt,
Watch out for bends before you drive past,
Better still, to avoid damage, be an early bird.

Slow down on road bumps and roundabouts,
On T junctions, await the warders call,
Do not speed past railway crossings,
Just be a good road citizen,
And to avoid all damages, hit the brakes.
