Lost At Sea

With a heart drenched by love
And a mind distorted by heavy drinking
I lay half awake, and half a dead wood.
The touch of her hair, and the glow on her lip
Thoughts i shared with myself
As i floated on a patch of dark cloud clothed in uncertainty
Through an unknown path leading to nowhere.

I could have said i was warned
To not put all my booze in one skin
The one jar was all i could see,
And her songs where all that my ears caught
Hypnotized by a possibility
Possibility of creating a life well above normal
Sailing on the deep deep blue ocean
But, i wouldn’t listen
I never really listen to anyone.
The old man said “Boy! Drink wisely”
