Barricades and Fences

There is a reason prisons have cells
And birds spend time flapping.
To breathe, and accept life’s truth
One must see the walls not built with blocks
There’s a joy that comes with the running water
A flow that catches the morning dew
Walls are meant to protect yet they cut through with a vengeance.

There is more power with a gang of broom
Than a single man can wield
Me, you as one is beautiful as Walls
Bombs will kill, and end a life, but
Loneliness will let one have breath,
Yet take ones life for a road trip.

Build walls if you have to
But don’t forget to tend the fields
Rain would come, and harvest time too
Times would change, and winter would knock
So ready your blankets of wool.
