Picture Prompt Poetry I

An orphan’s cry, falls on deaf ears
Folks pass him by but no one cares
All he wants is his mother’s arm
around him to shield him from harm
and wipe away all of his tears

With no one to tell his nightmares
I’ll be rich he solemnly swears
burying his head in his forearm
To eat, he has to rob the farm
An orphan’s cry.

He’s looks down when he sees his peers
With books going to school in pairs
Who wants to be his good-luck charm
No one, in fact they raise alarm
When he comes close to them or stares
An orphan’s cry
