Carpe Diem

Hiccup but gallop along, they say,
He should break some bread,
Heave and pray,
Heaven is not a place for the dead.

In case you die
Inside this struggle,
Insist on meeting the face in the sky,
Include your desire to lay and snuggle.

Now and then, now is better,
No one can see the future’s mind.
Never fail to write in a letter
Needs and wants you need to find.

Often we describe what’s missing
Only to lose what we have here.
Our hearts embrace why we’re reminiscing
Over the now we let disappear.
