Peaks and Mountains

To the mountains I’ll climb
Drink of the springs between its mounds
Lick the parts that touch the sky
I’ll jump, sprint or claw all the way
Upside is the newside.

There’s nothing I want between the dale
The plains cannot hale my heart
I live for the towering heights
Where the fire of the sun burns fierce
The drums of the earth beat loud
The wind slaps the hardest.

How I long to reach for its peak
Sit atop and take a peek
Little pebbles and rocks cannot slide me down.
I will call the rain to its bluff
No matter how dark the sky

Cushioned at the top
Farther from hell, close to heaven
Will i thrust uninterrupted to a climax
With the joy of sunshine and sonnets
To stand in majesty and watch life unfold.
